The O.R. Tambo District Municipality has appointed Community Services Director Mr Liyanda Madzidzela as Acting Municipal Manager with immediate effect. The appointment was confirmed by the O.R. Tambo District Municipal Council following a voluntary request for special leave by Municipal Manager Mr Basil Mase
.In his new role, Mr Madzidzela will oversee the day-to-day administration of the municipality and ensure the implementation of Council resolutions in line with the applicable legislative framework. Council said it has full confidence in Mr Madzidzela’s leadership to maintain administrative continuity and institutional stability across the district.
“Council remains focused on providing stable leadership, maintaining effective governance and ensuring that service delivery to our communities continues without disruption. We are confident that the administration will continue to discharge its responsibilities with professionalism, diligence and commitment to the people of O.R. Tambo,” Council stated.
The municipality stressed that operations remain fully functional and that the focus is still on service delivery, strengthening governance and driving development initiatives for residents across O.R. Tambo.Council has wished Mr Madzidzela well in executing his responsibilities and said it looks forward to the continued effective functioning of the Municipality during this period.Mr Madzidzela previously served as Director: Community Services prior to the acting appointment.
