The ANC in the Eastern Cape warmly welcomes and announces the integration of a substantial cohort of new health professionals into the Eastern Cape Department of Health (ECDOH) system. This milestone marks a significant step towards bolstering the province’s healthcare delivery. The intake includes 363 doctors, 111 pharmacists, 16 dentists, and 255 rehabilitation staff, bringing the total to 869 new health professionals. This group comprises medical interns, community service doctors, and allied health professionals.
“The recruitment of these dedicated health professionals is a crucial step towards building a healthcare system that is people-centered, efficient, and effective. We are committed to ensuring that our healthcare system serves the needs of all South Africans, particularly the most vulnerable,” said the ANC in the Eastern Cape.
This strategic recruitment drive aligns with the ANC’s 55th National Conference resolutions to fast-track the implementation of progressive health policies. These policies aim to ensure universal access to affordable, high-quality healthcare for all citizens. Moreover, this initiative underscores the ANC’s commitment to improving healthcare outcomes in the province.
