The Sarah Baartman District Municipality recently hosted a successful Back to School Programme, reinforcing the government’s commitment to education and learner support ahead of the 2026 academic year. The programme aimed to ensure that learners and educators are well-prepared, supported, and motivated for a successful year.
The MEC of Social Development and Provincial DDM Champion for SBDM, Hon. B. Fanta, joined by the Executive Mayor and Speaker of SBDM, as well as the Mayor and Speaker of Ndlambe, visited Bongweni Primary School in Alexandria to show their support for the programme.
Meanwhile, the Deputy Minister of Defence and Military Veterans and National DDM Champion for SBDM, Hon. B. Holomisa, led a delegation to Tsitsikamma High School, accompanied by SBDM Portfolio Councillor Cllr A. Diniso and the Mayor of Koukamma Municipality, Cllr S. Vuso.
The programme focused on ensuring that learners and educators have the necessary support and resources to excel in the new academic year. By working together, the government and its partners can ensure that learners and educators have the support they need to succeed.
