Speaking at the handover ceremony, Premier Lubabalo Oscar Mabuyane who was in his usual element emphasized the importance of providing learners with the best possible facilities and support. “Walking through the new halls, the message to our learners is clear: you deserve the best,” he said. “With improved facilities and renewed hope, there are truly no limits to what the learners of Sitoza can achieve.”

The handover ceremony coincided with the start of the 2026 academic year, and the Hon. Mayor of Dr AB Xuma Local Municipality, Cllr Siyabulela Zangqa, joined by Chris Hani District Municipality Executive Mayor Hon. Cllr Lusanda Sizani, addressed educators and learners at Sitoza Senior Secondary School during the opening assembly. The mayor praised the principal and his staff for their outstanding education and support, and encouraged learners to take advantage of the new facilities and opportunities available to them.
