Emalahleni Local Municipality recently conducted a Policy Review Process in preparation for the 2026\/27 Financial Year, in line with its commitment to good governance, service delivery, and legislative compliance.<\/p>\n
The review seeks to ensure that all municipal policies remain relevant, responsive, and aligned with the Integrated Development Plan (IDP), National Development Plan (NDP) 2030, and applicable legislation. Key focus areas include all municipal policies(Old and New) as well as Municipal By-Laws.<\/p>\n
The Municipality before engaging to the policy review in session engaged on the policy consultation with employees in all three units of Cacadu, Dordrecht and Indwe in ensuring that the policies are practical, implementable, and developmental as employees were given an opportunity to scrutinise them. Now it is the time for the policy makers to engage at lenght in with the policies.<\/p>\n
Mayor, Councillor Nontombizanele Koni said, \u201cThe policy workshop is meant to ensure that service delivery is fast tracked and that what we do is guided by relevant laws regulating the sector. It is worth noting that all that we are doing here will benefit our communities. We must work around the clock to ensure quality services and accountability to the electorate\u201d.<\/p>\n
The last phase of the session will be tabling of policies to Council for approval and subsequent implementation in the 2026\/27 Financial Year.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
