The Joe Gqabi District Municipality (JGDM) has taken a major step towards improving service delivery with the addition of 29 brand-new bakkies to its municipal fleet.\u00a0 In a statement the district municipality said this investment is aimed at enhancing efficiency, accessibility and responsiveness across all service delivery units in the district.<\/p>\n
The new vehicles will be deployed to support daily operations on the ground, ensuring that municipal teams are better equipped to reach communities and deliver services effectively and on time.<\/p>\n
Speaking during the handover, JGDM Executive Mayor, Councillor (Cllr) Nomvuyo Mposelwa, described the acquisition as a clear demonstration of responsible financial management.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe procurement of these vehicles is an important step towards cost containment. We will no longer need to hire vehicles, which helps us cut down on unnecessary expenditure\u201d, she said.<\/p>\n
JGDM Fleet Manager, Mr Luigi Kroutz, echoed her words – expanding that \u201cthis forms part of our commitment to using public resources responsibly\u201d.<\/p>\n
Cllr Mposelwa also urged drivers to use and maintain the vehicles responsibly to ensure their longevity and continued benefit to communities across the district.<\/p>\n
