Elliotdale
The second Mayor’s Cup tournament unit game hosted by Mbhashe Local Municipality was recently played at Matshamba Sports Field in Elliotdale. Football and netball were the two athletic codes that competed in the competition, together with all 10 wards under the Elliotdale Unit.
The winners were Ward 32 for netball and Ward 26 for soccer and will proceed to compete in the much anticipated Mayor’s Cup final on 07 June, 2025l. They will then play their game on the day of the final where the winner will compete with the other winners from the Willowvale and Dutywa tournaments.
Councillors, members of the Local Organising Committee, municipal officials, sports fanatics and other stakeholders came out in numbers to support the tournament.
