The Eastern Cape Provincial Legislature recently welcomed a delegation from Nairobi City County Assembly (Legislature) on 27-30 July 2025.
The delegation was led by, Hon. Kennedy O. Ng’ondi, the Speaker of Nairobi City County Assembly, which comprises six Members of the Panel and Assembly and a technical team on a diplomatic visit to the Eastern Cape Provincial Legislature.
The visit was aimed at opening discussions between the two legislatures focusing on sharing best experiences on several areas including house proceedings, committee systems, implementation of House resolutions and public participation.
The delegation arrived on Sunday and met with the Hon. Speaker of the Legislature, Presiding Officers and Chairpersons of Committees as part of strengthening inter-legislative relations and promoting mutual learning and exchange between the two institutions, which commenced in 2023 when the Speaker and the Standing Committee on Budget and Money Bills delegation undertook a benchmarking visit to the Nairobi County Assembly.
