The Portfolio Head for Development Planning at Mbhashe Local Municipality, Cllr Nomvuyiseko Mgedezi, together with other councillors, officially handed over tools of trade to Mbhashe SMMEs and Cooperatives at the TRC Hall in Idutywa.

In her opening remarks, Cllr Mgedezi emphasised that this initiative marks a new chapter for local entrepreneurs and cooperatives. “As Mbhashe Local Municipality, we are investing in our people, strengthening livelihoods, and creating opportunities for sustainable development,” she said.

The following SMMEs and Cooperatives benefited from the handover:
• Masikhulisane Madokisini – Wool sorting table, electric clipper, bale lifting hooks, Gearmax press
• Matoz Enterprise – Netting wire, pole CCA L, clamp saddle
• Gogolenyani Panel Beater – Macafric generator, body repair kit, socket set
• Afrizim Trading – Underplates, coffee table, cake stand, backdrop, stanchions
• Ingomso Tech Solutions and Trading – Combo sublimation printer kit, heat press, mug press, dual mug press, screen printer
• Mosheshoe Trading – Gas stove, chafing dish, folding table, adult counter
• Gaga Holdings LTD – Engine power gasoline tiller, garden master
• Simza Media Solution – Wheelbarrow, pruning shears, brushcutter
• Com Lo (PTY) LTD – Solar security, palisade panel
• Red J Mechanics – Hydraulic engine crane, shop press
• Thuli Catering – Round chafing dish, chest freezer
• Sivenkosi Uphawu – Printer, brushcutter
• Nasty Eats – Petrol generator, copper tube HD class, galvanized red socket
• K2024083730 – Professional hairdryer, infrared styler

In total, 14 beneficiaries received tools of trade through the Municipality’s SMME and Cooperative Funding Programme.

Through this programme, Mbhashe Local Municipality is turning Local Economic Development into action—empowering its people, strengthening the business sector, and boosting the local economy for the benefit of all. Since the introduction of its economic development initiatives, the Municipality has consistently prioritised support for SMMEs and Cooperatives, recognising their vital role in driving inclusive growth and community upliftment within Mbhashe.
