The State of the Nation Address (SoNA) Public Education engagement was recently held at the Municipal Council Chambers, with Hon Mayor Cllr Siyabulela Zangqa encouraging young people to be visionaries and explore employment opportunities.

Speaking at the event, Mayor Zangqa emphasized the importance of leveraging platforms, including social media, to their advantage. The programme, in partnership with the Government Communication and Information System (GCIS) – Eastern Cape, aimed to raise awareness, engage, and educate citizens on the key priorities of the State of the Nation Address.

Focus Areas included Youth development, Employment, Poverty alleviation and Entrepreneurship.

The engagement provided a platform for information sharing, education, and dialogue on service delivery issues, employment opportunities, entrepreneurship, and access to funding and grant programmes aligned with SoNA commitments to economic growth and inclusive development.
