The final whistle has been blown on the Mbhashe Mayor’s Cup Final 2026, which concluded successfully at Willowvale Sports Field. Throughout the tournament, individuals and teams across various sporting codes were recognised for their outstanding performances, receiving medals, trophies, and tablets in celebration of their achievements.
Addressing participants and supporters, the Executive Mayor thanked everyone who contributed to the event’s success and encouraged young people to continue participating in sport.
“We thank you all equally, those who were playing and those who came to support. We encourage you to continue participating in sport. Not only is it good for you, but it also presents you with opportunities that you would not get otherwise.”
The Mayor further highlighted the role of sport in promoting unity, respect, and social cohesion within communities, urging the youth to remain active and continue striving for excellence.
He also expressed appreciation to all participants, sponsors, exhibitors, coaches, umpires, officials, councillors, and community members whose contributions made the tournament a success.
