Dr. AB Xuma Local Municipality Mayor Cllr Siyabulela Zangqa, Chief Whip Cllr Nobuntu Mgidi, members of the Executive Committee and Councilors recently joined hands with the South African Police Services (SAPS) and various stakeholders during a vital community engagement programme focused on crime prevention and safety at Lahlangubo Community Hall in Ward 12.
This collaborative effort highlighted the importance of strong partnerships between local government and law enforcement in addressing crime and enhancing public safety. The event also featured ‘Services on Wheels’, where government departments offered essential services directly to residents. The programme also included fire services and disaster management awareness.
According to Cllr Zangqa these joint efforts are crucial in building safer and empowered communities. He also called upon community members to report incidents of crime and suspicious activities to local authorities.
