The sprawling economy of the Dr AB Xuma local Municiplaitry recently welcomed a new Usave supermarket in the area. Honourable Mayor Cllr Siyabulela Zangqa who was in his usual element, accompanied by Speaker Cllr Mandilakhe Kondile and Ward 11 Councillor Sivuyile Plaatjie attended the official opening event. The Mayor welcomed the new establishment, highlighting its potential to stimulate local economic growth.
Said Cllr. Zanqga, “We welcome this initiative that will surely empower local people through job creation and other opportunities. This is a step in the right direction; with initiatives like these surely our local economy will grow whilst also providing competitive prices for our people.’
He was encouraged by indications that the supermarket is engaging in discussions with local farmers regarding future supply opportunities and commended its active commitment to supporting non-governmental organisations and local schools as part of its community upliftment efforts.
